Contributions of Pedro Laín Entralgo to Psychology and Psychiatry person-centered

Resumen:

En las siguientes páginas se muestra cómo las investigaciones lainianas han contribuido a una fundamentación teórica del humanismo médico y, concretamente, de la psicología y la psiquiatría. Pedro Laín Entralgo (1908-2001), desde muy joven comenzó a madurar un estilo integrador de lo científico y lo humanístico para conseguir humanizar el saber acerca del hombre en general y el hombre enfermo en particular así como el trato hacia el paciente entendido como sujeto que busca su bien natural como el bien personal.
En lo referente a los aspectos éticos de la amistad técnica entre el médico y el enfermo, muestra su compromiso por la recuperación de un profesional con alma. En este mismo sendero caminaba C. Gustav Jung (1875-1961) quien aconsejaba a los profesionales de la salud: “conozca todas las teorías, domine todas las técnicas, pero al tocar un alma humana, sea apenas otra alma humana”.
El artículo tiene un enfoque biográfico desde el que poder mostrar las in- fluencias que marcan el devenir intelectual y personal de Laín para, seguidamente, indicar las aportaciones fundamentales a un estudio de la persona desde una perspectiva integral.

The following pages show how the Lainianas’ research has contributed to a theoretical foundation of medical humanism, specifically to the psychology and psychiatry view.
Pedro Laín Entralgo (1908-2001), from his youth began to mature an integrative style about the scientific and the humanistic to achieve humanize knowledge about human being in general and, especially, the sick man and the treatment of the patient treated as subject seeking his natural good as well as his self-healthiness.
Concerning to the ethical aspects about the friendship between doctor and patient, he shows his commitment about recovering a professional with soul. . Gustav Jung (1875-1961) following his steps, advised to them: You should know all theories, master all the techniques, but the touching of a human soul is just another human soul.
The article has a biographical approach that shows the influences that marked the intellectual and personal evolution of Laín in order to indicate the fundamental contributions of the person study from a holistic persective.
